Gentry Underwood is the head of design at Dropbox and a cofounder of Mailbox (now a part of Dropbox), the mobile email experience for a world on the go. Previously, he cofounded Orchestra, the Apple App Store’s 2011 Productivity App of the Year, and led Ideo’s Knowledge Sharing domain and the creation of Ideo’s Tube, an award-winning intranet system. In this role, he focused on facilitating large-scale collaboration through the human-centered application of technology. Prior to Ideo, Underwood worked as a software designer at Reactivity Inc. 

Underwood has a BS in human-computer interaction from Stanford University, an MA in psychology from Santa Clara University, and an MS in anthropology and community development from Vanderbilt University.
